About Jill
Jill earned her law degree from Pepperdine School of Law, initially pursuing a career in business litigation. Over time, she became increasingly disillusioned with the costly and adversarial nature of litigation, which she felt only fueled discord among the parties involved. In her view, litigation was often inefficient, impersonal, and detrimental to clients’ best interests, pulling them out of the process and leading to unnecessary stress.
Jill’s own divorce cost over $500,000 and stretched over five years, causing significant trauma for her son and immense strain for herself. This experience inspired her to focus on helping others achieve amicable and peaceful divorces, with a strong emphasis on protecting children’s welfare. As a result, she pivoted her career toward family law mediation.
While studying at Pepperdine, Jill trained in alternative dispute resolution at the Strauss Dispute Resolution Institute. Recognizing mediation as her true calling after her divorce, she further honed her dispute resolution skills through extensive training in divorce mediation. Her passion lies in guiding families through the divorce process harmoniously, helping all parties prioritize mutual interests, fostering cooperation, and supporting children as they navigate this challenging time.
Though Jill provides mediation services for all types of divorces, her primary focus is on helping families and children navigate this period in a healthy and constructive way. Central to her approach is an unwavering commitment to children’s well-being during mediation, including expertise in working with special needs children, both personally and professionally.
Originally from Texas, Jill has called Orange County home since 2000. She shares her life with two cats, a dog, and her special needs son. In her free time, she enjoys interior design, traveling, attending concerts, and making her annual pilgrimage to Phoenix for baseball spring training with her son.
